(Yeah, I know it's old, but don't I look cute? ;) Besides, it shows my very early interest in music!)
My name is Maria Miland Elmvang. My last name used to be Tøndering, but on August 23rd, 2003 I married my wonderful boyfriend Lars, and have happily exchanged my last name for his. Lars and I met through the theater society at uni in the spring of 2000 - we quickly became best friends and ended up married 3 years later! We've just celebrated our three-year-anniversary and are as much in love as ever :-)
I was born in October 1979, which makes me 27 years old now (assuming I've actually kept this page up-to-date ;) ), and am currently flatting in Gladsaxe which is a suburb to Copenhagen.
I'm an active Christian as you can see here. I was born and raised this way, and find great strength from it. I mostly attend an Evangelical Lutheran church, as that is the state church of Denmark, but also feel very much at home in Anglican and Baptist churches.
I'd like you to meet my family: My mum, Trine, translates books from (mostly) English to Danish for a Christian publishing firm. My dad, Claus, works for a computer firm. I have three younger sisters: Nina (1981), who's married to Christian, Rebekka (1983), who's engaged to Peter, and Michala (1985). In the picture you'll also see my wonderful niece, Isabella (2004) and nephew, Jordan (2005).
From 1995 to 1999 I went to a high school in Birkerød called Birkerød Gymnasium where I followed the international line, called "International Baccaleaureate" (IB for short). I really enjoyed this, and made a lot of great friends from all over the world. If you click here you will find a page of "IB-Goofs" with all the crazy and silly things said by IB-students.
From August 1999 to April 2005 I studied Information Technology at the Technical University of Denmark(DTU). Click here to find some "DTU-Goofs". Yes, even nerds can say foolish things from time to time I spent the school-year 1996/97 in New
Zealand as an exchange student, and absolutely LOVED it. I have
now been there a total of three times, and am constantly looking for
chances to be able to go back again. It's a beautiful country, with
great people.
My hobbies include music (playing the piano and the flute as well as
singing), rollerblading, reading, writing, acting, playing Settlers of Catan and various versions Munchkin and generally hanging out with friends.
